Chemistry & Bioactives
Turmimax® BIO is a patented phytochemical composition derived from the rhizome of Curcuma longa, delivering more than 95% total curcuminoids in a 100% water-dispersible format that maintains dispersion over time.
Three principal curcuminoids
Rather than supplying curcumin as a single isolated molecule, Turmimax® BIO retains the naturally occurring curcuminoid spectrum found in turmeric rhizome - a related group of polyphenolic diarylheptanoids.
The principal curcuminoid and primary analytical marker associated with turmeric's antioxidant and inflammation-modulating properties. Two methoxy-substituted aromatic rings connected by a conjugated heptadienedione chain.
Similar to curcumin but with one fewer methoxy group, giving it slightly different polarity. Complements curcumin within the natural curcuminoid spectrum and distinguishes a naturally derived composition from a purified isolate.
A curcumin analogue without the two methoxy groups. Present at a lower proportion, but an important identity marker when characterising a turmeric curcuminoid composition.
Molecular Structures & Chemistry
The three principal natural curcuminoids in Turmimax® BIO
Curcumin
Contains two methoxy (-OCH₃) group substitutions at the aromatic rings, linked by a conjugated heptadienedione core. Represents the major curcuminoid in natural turmeric.
"Provides the highest antioxidant contribution in cell assays."
Not a single isolate
Turmeric does not naturally contain only one curcuminoid. Curcumin occurs together with demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. Retaining this native spectrum preserves the identity of a genuine turmeric composition and contributes to its overall biological activity profile.
upto 95% by HPLC
Turmimax® BIO is standardised to more than 95% total curcuminoids. Curcuminoid quantification is performed by HPLC against reference standards. The exact analytical method and per-batch curcuminoid distribution are stated on the current approved specification and certificate of analysis.
